St. Agatha Necklace

$45.00 USD

Pendant inspired by the story of St. Agatha, who was sent to be tortured after refusing to break her vows of Christianity, as well as rejecting the advances of Roman prefect Quintianus. She was stretched on a rack to be torn with iron hooks, burned with torches, and whipped. Her breasts were torn off with tongs. Whilst in prison, she miraculously recovered from her wounds, some say St. Peter the Apostle aided her. She was then to be burned at the stake, but before the fire could be lit, and an earthquake occurred, preventing the burning. Agatha was again put in prison, where she eventually died.

All necklaces are mounted on a 30" stainless steel chain.
